BNV : শলোমন মিশরের ফরৌণের কন্যাকে বিয়ে করলেন এবং তাঁর কন্যাকে দায়ূদ শহরে নিয়ে এসে, মিশরের রাজা ফরৌণের সঙ্গে একটি চুক্তি স্থাপন করলেন| তখনও পর্য়ন্ত শলোমনের নিজের রাজপ্রাসাদ ও প্রভুর মন্দির বানানোর কাজ শেষ হয় নি| শলোমন সে সময়ে জেরুশালেমের চার পাশে একটি দেওয়াল নির্মাণ করাচ্ছিলেন|
KJV : And Solomon made affinity with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and took Pharaoh’s daughter, and brought her into the city of David, until he had made an end of building his own house, and the house of the LORD, and the wall of Jerusalem round about.
YLT : And Solomon joineth in marriage with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and taketh the daughter of Pharaoh, and bringeth her in unto the city of David, till he completeth to build his own house, and the house of Jehovah, and the wall of Jerusalem round about.

ESV : Solomon made a marriage alliance with Pharaoh king of Egypt. He took Pharaoh's daughter and brought her into the city of David until he had finished building his own house and the house of the LORD and the wall around Jerusalem.
ERVEN : Solomon made a peace treaty with Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, by marrying his daughter. Solomon brought her to the City of David. This was when Solomon was still building his palace, the Temple of the Lord, and the wall around Jerusalem.

BNV : য়েহেতু মন্দিরের কাজ তখনও শেষ হয়নি, লোকরা উচ্চস্থানের বেদীতে পশু বলি দিত|
KJV : Only the people sacrificed in high places, because there was no house built unto the name of the LORD, until those days.

BNV : শলোমন তাঁর পিতা দায়ূদের সমস্ত বিধি-নির্দেশ পালন করে প্রমাণ করেছিলেন য়ে সত্যি সত্যিই প্রভুর প্রতি তাঁর অটুট ভক্তি ও ভালোবাসা আছে| কিন্তু এছাড়া শলোমন একটি কাজ করতেন যা তাঁকে তাঁর পিতা রাজা দায়ূদ করতে বলেন নি| সেটি হল উচ্চস্থানে বলিদান ও ধূপধূনো দেওয়া|
KJV : And Solomon loved the LORD, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places.
YLT : And Solomon loveth Jehovah, to walk in the statutes of David his father -- only, in high places he is sacrificing and making perfume --

BNV : রাজা শলোমন গিবিয়োনে বলি দিতে চাইছিলেন| সে সময় গিবিয়োন ছিল বলিদানের উচ্চস্থানগুলির মধ্যে সব চেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ| শলোমন গিবিয়োনের বেদীতে 1,000 হোমবলি উত্সর্গ করলেন|
KJV : And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that [was] the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar.

BNV : যখন শলোমন গিবিয়োনে ছিলেন তখন রাতের বেলা প্রভু তাঁকে স্বপ্নে দর্শন দিলেন এবং তাকে একটি বর চাইতে বললেন|
KJV : In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee.
YLT : In Gibeon hath Jehovah appeared unto Solomon, in a dream of the night, and God saith, `Ask -- what do I give to thee?`

BNV : তখন শলোমন তাঁকে বললেন, “হে প্রভু আমি আপনার সেবক, আমার পিতা দায়ূদের প্রতি আপনি অসীম করুণা প্রদর্শন করেছেন| তিনি সত্‌ ও সত্য পথে আপনার নির্দেশ মেনে চলেছিলেন, তাই আপনি তাঁর নিজের পুত্রকে তাঁরই সিংহাসনে বসে রাজ্য শাসন করতে দিয়ে, তাঁর প্রতি আপনার করুণা ও দয়া প্রদর্শন করেছেন|
KJV : And Solomon said, Thou hast shewed unto thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as [it is] this day.
YLT : And Solomon saith, `Thou hast done with Thy servant David my father great kindness, as he walked before Thee in truth and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with Thee, and Thou dost keep for him this great kindness, and dost give to him a son sitting on his throne, as [at] this day.

ASV : And Solomon said, Thou hast showed unto thy servant David my father great lovingkindness, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great lovingkindness, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.
ESV : And Solomon said, "You have shown great and steadfast love to your servant David my father, because he walked before you in faithfulness, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart toward you. And you have kept for him this great and steadfast love and have given him a son to sit on his throne this day.
ERVEN : Solomon answered, "You were very kind and loyal to my father David. He was your servant and followed you. He was good and lived right. And you showed the greatest kindness to him when you allowed his son to rule on his throne after him.

BNV : হে প্রভু, আমার পিতার জায়গায় আপনি আমাকে রাজা করেছেন, কিন্তু আমি এখনও প্রায় শিশুর মতোই অজ্ঞ| এ ব্যাপারে আমার মধ্যে রয়োজনীয় অন্তর্দৃষ্টি ও বুদ্ধিমত্তার অভার রযেছে|
KJV : And now, O LORD my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father: and I [am but] a little child: I know not [how] to go out or come in.
YLT : And now, O Jehovah my God, Thou hast caused thy servant to reign instead of David my father; and I [am] a little child, I do not know to go out and to come in;

ERVEN : Lord my God, you have made me the king in my father's place, but I am like a small child. I don't have the wisdom I need to do what I must do.

BNV : আমি আপনার দাস, আপনার নির্বাচিত লোকের অন্যতম সেবক| আর এই অংসখ্য় ভক্ত ও সেবকের শাসনভার আজ আমারই ওপর ন্যস্ত|
KJV : And thy servant [is] in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude.
YLT : and Thy servant [is] in the midst of thy people, whom Thou hast chosen, a people numerous, that is not numbered nor counted for multitude,

BNV : তাই আপনার কাছে আমার অনুনয় ও প্রার্থনা আমাকে আপনি প্রজ্ঞা দিন যাতে আমি রাজার কর্তব্য পালন করতে পারি ও লোকদের বিচার করতে পারি| যদি আমার এই মহত্‌ জ্ঞান থাকে তাহলে আমি ভাল ও মন্দের মধ্যে পার্থক্য করতে পারব| এই প্রজ্ঞা ব্যতীত আপনার এই অগণিত লোকদের শাসন করা আমার পক্ষে অসম্ভব|”
KJV : Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?
YLT : and Thou hast given to Thy servant an understanding heart, to judge Thy people, to discern between good and evil; for who is able to judge this Thy great people?`

ERVEN : So I ask you to give me the wisdom to rule and judge them well and to help me know the difference between right and wrong. Without such great wisdom, it would be impossible to rule this great nation."

BNV : শলোমনের এই প্রার্থনা শুনে প্রভু তাঁর প্রতি খুবই সন্তুষ্ট হলেন|
KJV : And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing.
YLT : And the thing is good in the eyes of the Lord, that Solomon hath asked this thing,

BNV : তাই তিনি শলোমনকে বললেন, “তুমি নিজের জন্য দীর্ঘ জীবন বা ধনসম্পদ চাও নি| এমনকি তোমার শত্রুদের মৃত্যু কামনাও করো নি| তুমি শুধু সঠিক সিদ্ধান্ত নেবার জন্য অন্তর্দৃষ্টি প্রার্থনা করেছ|
KJV : And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment;
YLT : and God saith unto him, `Because that thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thee many days, nor asked for thee riches, nor asked the life of thine enemies, and hast asked for thee discernment to understand judgment,
RV : And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment;

ERVEN : So God said to him, "You did not ask for long life and riches for yourself. You did not ask for the death of your enemies. You asked for the wisdom to listen and make the right decisions.

BNV : তাই আমি অতি অবশ্যই তুমি যা প্রার্থনা করেছ তা তোমায় দেব| আমি তোমাকে বিচক্ষণ ও বুদ্ধিমান করে তুলব| আমি তোমাকে এত বিচক্ষণতা দেব যা আজ পর্য়ন্ত কেউ কখনও পায নি এবং ভবিষ্যতেও পাবে না|
KJV : Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.
YLT : lo, I have done according to thy words; lo, I have given to thee a heart, wise and understanding, that like thee there hath not been before thee, and after thee there doth not arise like thee;

BNV : এছাড়াও তোমাকে পুরস্কৃত করার জন্য আমি তোমাকে সেসব জিনিসও দেব যা তুমি প্রার্থনা করো নি| সারা জীবন তুমি অসীম সম্পদ ও সম্মানের ভাগীদার হবে| তোমার মতো বড় রাজা আর পৃথিবীতে আর কেউ হবে না|
KJV : And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days.
YLT : and also, that which thou hast not asked I have given to thee, both riches and honour, that there hath not been like thee a man among the kings all thy days;

BNV : শুধু তুমি আমার প্রতি আস্থা রেখো আর তোমার পিতা দায়ূদের মতো আমার আদেশ ও বিধিগুলি মেনে চলো| আর তা যদি করো আমি তোমাকে দীর্ঘ জীবনও দেব|”
KJV : And if thou wilt walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as thy father David did walk, then I will lengthen thy days.
YLT : and if thou dost walk in My ways to keep My statutes, and My commands, as David thy father walked, then I have prolonged thy days.`
RV : And if thou wilt walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as thy father David did walk, then I will lengthen thy days.

BNV : শলোমনের ঘুম ভেঙ্গে গেল| তিনি বুঝতে পারলেন, স্বপ্নের মধ্যে দিয়ে ঈশ্বর বয়ং তাঁর সঙ্গে কথা বলেছেন| তখন শলোমন জেরুশালেমে ফিরে গেলেন, ঈশ্বরের আদেশ সম্বলিত পবিত্র সিন্দুকটির সামনে দাঁড়ালেন এবং হোমবলি ও মঙ্গল নৈবেদ্য নিবেদন করলেন| এরপর য়ে সমস্ত নেতা ও রাজকর্মচারীরা রাজ্য শাসনের কাজে তাঁকে সহায়তা করেছিলেন তাঁদের সবাইকে নিয়ে একটি ভোজসভার আয়োজন করলেন|
KJV : And Solomon awoke; and, behold, [it was] a dream. And he came to Jerusalem, and stood before the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and offered up burnt offerings, and offered peace offerings, and made a feast to all his servants.
YLT : And Solomon awaketh, and lo, a dream; and he cometh in to Jerusalem, and standeth before the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, and causeth to ascend burnt-offerings, and maketh peace-offerings. And he maketh a banquet for all his servants,

ERVEN : Solomon woke up and knew that God had spoken to him in the dream. Then Solomon went to Jerusalem and stood before the Box of the Lord's Agreement. He offered a burnt offering and fellowship offerings to the Lord and then gave a party for all of his officials.

BNV : একদিন দুটি গণিকা শলোমনের কাছে এসে উপস্থিত হল|
KJV : Then came there two women, [that were] harlots, unto the king, and stood before him.
YLT : then come in do two women, harlots, unto the king, and stand before him,

BNV : তাদের মধ্যে এক জন শলোমনকে বলল, “মহারাজ আমরা দুজনে একই ঘরে বাস করি| আমরা দুজনেই সন্তানসম্ভবা ছিলাম এবং সন্তান জন্ম দেওয়ার সময় উপস্থিত হয়| ঐ মেয়েটির উপস্থিতিতেই আমি আমার সন্তানের জন্ম দিই|
KJV : And the one woman said, O my lord, I and this woman dwell in one house; and I was delivered of a child with her in the house.
YLT : and the one woman saith, `O, my lord, I and this woman are dwelling in one house, and I bring forth with her, in the house;
RV : And the one woman said, Oh my lord, I and this woman dwell in one house; and I was delivered of a child with her in the house.
RSV : The one woman said, "Oh, my lord, this woman and I dwell in the same house; and I gave birth to a child while she was in the house.

ERVEN : One of the women said, "Sir, this woman and I live in the same house. We were both pregnant and ready to give birth to our babies. I had my baby while she was there with me.

BNV : এর ঠিক তিনদিন পরে এই মেয়েটি তার শিশুর জন্ম দেয়| কিন্তু আমরা দুজন ছাড়া আমাদের বাড়ীতে অন্য কোনো তৃতীয় ব্যক্তি ছিল না|
KJV : And it came to pass the third day after that I was delivered, that this woman was delivered also: and we [were] together; [there was] no stranger with us in the house, save we two in the house.
YLT : and it cometh to pass on the third day of my bringing forth, that this woman also bringeth forth, and we [are] together, there is no stranger with us in the house, save we two, in the house.
RV : And it came to pass the third day after I was delivered, that this woman was delivered also; and we were together; there was no stranger with us in the house, save we two in the house.

BNV : এক দিন রাতে ওর শিশুটি মারা যায় কারণ ও শিশুর ওপর শুয়েছিল| সে সময় ওর শিশুটি মারা যায়|
KJV : And this woman’s child died in the night; because she overlaid it.
YLT : And the son of this woman dieth at night, because she hath lain upon it,

ERVEN : One night while this woman was asleep with her baby, the baby died.

BNV : অন্য মেয়েটি তত্‌ক্ষনাত্‌ এর প্রতিবাদ করে বলে, “মোটেই না! জীবন্ত শিশুটিই আমার| মৃতটা তোর!”প্রথম মেয়েটি এর উত্তরে বলল, “মিথ্যে কথা| মৃত শিশুটি তোর, এটা আমার!” এই ভাবে দুজনে রাজার সামনে ঝগড়া করতে থাকে|

KJV : And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had judged; and they feared the king: for they saw that the wisdom of God [was] in him, to do judgment.
